Donald L. Smith

April 26, 1935 ~ October 27, 2018 (age 83)

Donald L. Smith, 83, of Mendon passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the North Adams Home in Mendon.

Don was born on April 26, 1935 in Quincy to the late William Earl and Ruby Irene (Milhauser) Smith. He married Patricia A. Tracy on June 27, 1959 in Calvary Baptist Church in Quincy. Pat passed away on April 9, 2010.

Don worked as a Herdsman for Moorman manufacturing and later worked in maintenance for Hunter Funeral Homes in Mendon and Golden.

He was an Avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved playing Wii bowling at North Adams home and was very proud of his high scores. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.

Survivning are; his four children Randy (Debi) Smith of Eureka, Pam (John) Hopkins of Canton Mo, Theresa Maday of Keystone Iowa, and Keven Smith of Quincy ;nine grandchildren Sarah (Jeff) Bruns of Keystone Iowa, Andrew Maday of Quincy, Bonnie Smith of Eureka, Ben Smith of Bloomington, Nicole Dittmer of Canton Missouri, Shaun (Lauren) Dittmer of Fort Meade Maryland, Heaven (Billy) Schoonover of Liberty, Tyler Smith of Quincy, Austin Smith of Quincy; twelve great- grandchildren Wyatt Bruns, Mackenzie Bruns, Kasie Bruns, Micheal Kindhart, Samantha Kindhart, Preston Maday, Blake Carnes, Ollie Schoonover, Willow Schoonover, Lillian Schoonover, Jackson Draminski, Luke Hayden, one on the way and thirteen siblings.

He was preceeded in death by by his wife Patrica (Tracy) Smith, his parents William and Ruby (Milhauser) Smith, and four of his siblings Irene Berlinger, William Smith jr., John Smith, and Mary Jane Smith.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 2, 2018 in the South Side Cemetery in Clayton with Reverend David Schuring officiating. Memorials have been suggested to the North Adams Home Activity Department or Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
